Ether, by Eden
Build with light.
Ether is an engine built entirely for particles. Pictures, video, app screens and whole interfaces form out of light the moment they're needed, and dissolve when they're done. Every particle and every pixel is yours to move.
Free-form manipulation
No mockups. No screen recordings. Just form it.
Showing a product used to mean mockups, screen recordings and a demo environment someone had to build and keep alive. With Ether you hand it the thing itself: a 4K picture, a playing video, a real app screen. It assembles out of particles right where you need it, and dissolves when you're done.

Free-form interfaces
No windows. No rectangles. Anything you can picture.
Today's interfaces are boxes inside boxes. Ether's are made of light: a panel, a picture, a 3D object or a whole screen forms out of the background, blends into everything around it, and returns to the field when you're done. Nothing has to be drawn in advance.

Objects
Not a render. A working object.
A flagship PC, built from 500,000 particles. Every fan spins, the pump turns, coolant flows, the glass swings open and the whole machine comes apart on command. Drag to turn it. Click to scatter it.
Worlds
Not a backdrop. A world.
Whole 3D scenes, built entirely from particles. Every leaf, wave, flame and blade of grass is a point of light, lit and moving in real time. Watch it form.

Interfaces ship as code. Ether's don't.
Every app on your device carries its interface as code: components, layouts and logic, in a bundle anyone can open. Agents are now very good at taking that code apart and rebuilding a working copy. An Ether interface arrives as a stream of data and forms at the moment of use, so there is no interface code on the device to take apart.
export function Checkout({ cart, user }) {
const total = price(cart, user.plan);
return (
<Panel title="Checkout">
<LineItems items={cart.items} />
<Total value={total} />
<PayButton onPay={() => charge(user, total)} />
</Panel>
);
}
Readable, copyable, rebuildable.

Points of light, formed where they're used.

Performance
Every particle is a dial.
A normal interface is fixed: it costs what it costs. Because Ether controls each particle, it can trade count for brightness and keep the picture. Halving the particles on this site cut the time to draw a frame by 46%, with no visible change.

It runs in the browser you already have: WebGPU where it's available, WebGL2 everywhere else, including phones and in-app browsers like Instagram's.
